The SCA reiterates that the current enabling law does not explicitly provide the Ombudsman with a mandate to encourage ratification of, or accession to, international and regional human rights instruments. 

The SCA encourages the Ombudsman to continue to advocate for amendments to its enabling law to include an explicit mandate in this regard.
