The GANHRI 2024 Annual Meeting will be held in person on 6-7-8 May in the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

This Annual Meeting will offer an opportunity for GANHRI members and partners from across all regions to network, exchange experiences and learn from each other, reviewing our work and deciding collectively on next steps moving forward.

  • Interpretation

All GANHRI meetings including the Bureau meeting, the General Assembly, Annual Conference and Knowledge Exchange plenary sessions will be interpreted in all four GANHRI languages (Arabic, English, French and Spanish).

  • Agenda and documentation

The agenda and other documents will be made available in all GANHRI languages on the GANHRI website in a password protected page:

  • Side events

Due to ongoing renovation work under the Strategic Heritage Plan of the United Nations Office, and limited availability of conference rooms, only a limited number of side events to GANHRI 2024 can be accommodated.

A decision on room allocation will be made upon applications received from NHRIs and/or networks, on a first come first served basis.

Events should be in line with GANHRI priorities and hosted under the framework of the GANHRI 2024 Annual Meeting. Events should not exceed the one-hour meeting and timelines should be respected to guarantee a smooth transition with Annual Meeting events. The host of the side event will be entirely responsible for all logistical arrangements including invitation and technical set up. Interpretation will not be available in the meeting room.

Requests for hosting a side event should include an initial concept note and agenda of the event and be sent by 12 April at the latest.

  • Travel expenses

All travel arrangements, including travel expenses, accommodation and travel insurance, are at the participants’ discretion. Therefore, we encourage you to make your own booking arrangements as soon as possible. Neither OHCHR nor GANHRI are in a position to fund travel or cover expenses related to illness or accidents of participants while attending the meeting.

  • Meeting Venues

The GANHRI Annual Meeting will be held in Building E, Room XVII. The building is accessible from the Peace Gate, which is located next to the alleys of flags. The Regional Networks meetings will be held in Building A and Building E both accessible from the Peace Gate. Please refer to the map below to learn where the rooms are located.

  • Badges to access the UNOG premises

Once registered, meeting participants must obtain an access badge prior to entering the Palais des Nations. Please bring your valid national passport and/or identity card and carry it at all times.

The Pregny Pavilion reopened its doors for regular operations following the recent completion of its second phase of renovations. Concurrently, the Pass & ID office has become fully operational. Access to the Palais via the Pregny Gate is now available to GANHRI 2024 participants using their digital badges:
  • Visas

It is the responsibility of participants to obtain necessary visas to attend this meeting. This includes an entry visa for Switzerland, as well as any transit visas that may be necessary. All refreshments including drinks and meals are at the participants’ discretion.
