COSP14 “Strengthening the right to live independently as part of the community in domestic frameworks”

–        A summary of the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s findings on the barriers to the full realisation of the right to live independently in England, taking account of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as presenting the EHRC’s proposals for the incorporation of Article 19 into the domestic legal framework; 

–        A demonstration of the work that the EHRC has done to promote, monitor and report on the right to live independently and other international human rights standards, including through our unique online measurement tool – the human rights tracker; and

–        An open discussion on the incorporation of the right to live independently and barriers to the full realisation of this right across different countries
