The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) would hereby like to call for submissions from National Human Rights Institutions and Regional Human Rights Mechanisms to the study being carried out by the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
During its twelfth session in July 2019 (A/HRC/42/55), the Expert Mechanism decided that its next annual study on the status of the rights of indigenous peoples worldwide in the achievement of the ends of the UNDRIP (Human Rights Council Resolution 33/25, paragraph 2a) will focus on land rights. This study will be presented to the Human Rights Council at its forty-fifth session (September 2020).
Further to a request by the Expert Mechanism, OHCHR encourages National Human Rights Institutions and Regional Human Rights Mechanisms to provide contributions to this study, in English, French or Spanish, to expertmechanism@ohchr.org, no later than 15 January 2020. Submissions should focus on the outline of the report contained in the concept note (available at https://www.ohchr.org/EN/Issues/IPeoples/EMRIP/Pages/Call.aspx)
All submissions will be placed on the OHCHR website unless indicated otherwise.
