Call to NHRIs to submit pledges for Human Rights 75 Initiative
2023 marks the 75th anniversary the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The anniversary is an opportunity to rejuvenate the Declaration, demonstrate how it can meet the needs of our time and advance its promise of freedom, equality and justice for all.
On the occasion of this anniversary, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has launched the United Nations Human Rights 75 Initiative , a key aim of which is to generate pledges by State institutions, local and regional authorities, regional organizations, national human rights institutions, civil society organisations, and others to bring about concrete change towards greater enjoyment of human rights for all.
We strongly encourage NHRIs and their regional networks to follow the High Commissioner’s call and submit pledges. All pledges will be made public during a high-level event in December 2023.
